Community development

In addition to our strategic focus areas, we also respond to specific needs and concerns.

Many Coca-Cola community welfare initiatives in Croatia grew into permanent campaigns, providing support and help to resolv social, cultural, economic and environmental problems and build a more humanitarian and just society.

The challenging time in which we live demands entrepreneurship and specific skills from all of us, but also important are humanity, solidarity and readiness to give. One of many ways of giving is volunteer work; it is a creative and mediating force that builds healthy, acceptable communities and respects the dignity of all people.

Coca-Cola HBC Croatia and members of Croatian Coca-Cola Volunteer Club are actively involved in providing equipment and facilities for schools, renovating and repairing Homes for Elderly People, houses in SOS Children Village and educational facilities for disadvantaged children. Other contributions of a similar nature involve blood donation drives, donation of guide dogs for the blind, and donation of seedlings for reforesting burnt down areas.

Following the escalation of children and youth violence in Croatia in 2008, we donated funds for UNICEF's program «Stop violence amongst children». We are supporting this valuable one year programme in five schools in different parts of Croatia, helping them to achieve violence-free environment.

Apart from our major sporting programmes, we are sponsoring also a wide range of other popular sport activities including volleyball, sailing, and basketball.

We actively participate in cultural life of our community and support numerous musical and dance performances reflecting local traditions, as well as art exhibitions, concerts, film festivals and entertainments on special occasions (Vukovar Film Festival, Rokaj Fest, Rijeka Masquerade, Špancirfest, and many other).
